Vegpro Ghana Ltd

Vegpro Ghana, a Kenyan multinational with UK backing, entered Ghana in 2011 via FDI in the North Tongu District (Lower Volta Basin). It cultivates over 1,000 hectares of maize, baby corn, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and chillies for export, with on-site pack houses for cleaning, de-husking, packaging, and cold storage to meet EU standards.

The nucleus-out-grower scheme sources from local farmers, expanding to fruits like mangoes.

Investment and Policy Alignment:

Funded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), investments exceed $10 million, leveraging GIPC-registered projects (US$1.3 billion in agriculture FDI from 2008-2016).
